We host a year-round creative programme encompassing music, visual art and spoken word.
We offer hospitality to people going through homelessness and speak out on issues of injustice, especially concerning refugees, asylum, racial justice, and LGBTQ+ issues.

It costs £5,000 each day to keep the doors of St James’s open to all who already need us.
A reimagined St James’s realised. A redesigned garden, courtyard and new building capacity—all fully accessible— will provide beautiful spaces for all as well as improving our environmental performance.

The Sanctuary service will be held at our partner church St Pancras, Euston Road.
Held each Wednesday morning from 8.30am-9am in the side chapel
Held each Thursday from 1.10pm-1.40pm in church.

Author, Episcopal priest and prophetic leader The Rev. Canon Dr. Stephanie Spellers visits St James’s, to preach and help us reimagine the church’s future in an increasingly multicultural, nonreligious milieu.

As part of our environmental commitments, we are trying to keep our single-use printing to a minimum. Please consider using an online service sheet, which is uploaded to this page a few days in advance of each service. There are QR codes when you arrive at the church so it’s easy to download a service sheet there too. Although we’ll always have some paper copies for people who need them, please use online service sheets if you can.
St James’s aspires to be a place where all can belong, and where every person’s gifts and identities are welcome and celebrated.
We are working on improving the experience of services and events at St James’s in the church building and the online community.
In the building, we have step-free access from the courtyard, a toilet for disabled people, large-print orders of service for our Sunday Eucharist and Sanctuary Eucharist on Tuesdays, QR codes for orders of service and a hearing loop system.
Online, we broadcast many of our services and concerts on our YouTube channel. Many of our events take place on Zoom throughout the year, including services and courses.
The courtyard and Redemption Roasters café are wheelchair accessible. The rectory and its offices and event spaces, as well as the Southwood Garden, are not wheelchair accessible.
