Don’t miss this beautiful FREE choral concert in the stunning setting of St James’s Piccadilly, the historic church designed by Sir Christopher Wren. This talented young choir from California will present an inspiring programme of a cappella and accompanied works. The evening will open with performances by St James’s Music Scholars.

The Bay Area Cantate is comprised of 36 students from the award-winning Monte Vista Choir program in Danville, California. This high school ensemble most recently traveled to Italy in the summer of 2024 and performed in acclaimed venues including St. Paul’s Cathedral. Other notable performances include concerts at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Carnegie Hall in New York. Mrs. Rosalind Neisinger is the Director of Choirs at Monte Vista High School in Danville, CA, where she has been teaching for seven years. She received her undergraduate degrees in Music Education and English from UCLA, and her graduate degree in Music Education from San Jose State University. Alongside her position at the high school, Rosalind also directs an extracurricular middle school choir and an elementary choir in the Danville Girls Chorus.
St James Piccadilly Music Scholars and The Singing Scholars of St James’s, Piccadilly were etablished in 2021. Each year new scholars are appointed to lead the singing at choral church services. Throughout the year they develop as both choral and solo singers and every summer the group tours a region of the UK singing services in Cathedrals. Former scholars are now singing with the BBC Singers and as Lay Clarks at Southwark Cathedral and Cambridge Colleges, and studying on opera courses at leading conservatoires.
