We host a year-round creative programme encompassing music, visual art and spoken word.
We offer hospitality to people going through homelessness and speak out on issues of injustice, especially concerning refugees, asylum, racial justice, and LGBTQ+ issues.
St James’s strives to advocate for earth justice and to develop deeper connections with nature.
We aim to be a place where you can belong. We have a unique history, and the beauty of our building is widely known. Our community commits to faith in action: social and environmental justice; creativity. and the arts
We strive to be a Eucharist-centred, diverse and inclusive Christian community promoting life in abundance, wellbeing and dignity for all.
St James’s Piccadilly has been at the heart of its community since 1684. We invite you to play your part in securing this historic place for generations to come.
It costs £5,000 each day to keep the doors of St James’s open to all who already need us.
A reimagined St James’s realised. A redesigned garden, courtyard and new building capacity—all fully accessible— will provide beautiful spaces for all as well as improving our environmental performance.

A joyful Pride celebration with drag DJs, food and drink, face painting, arts and crafts, all hosted alongside the Pride in London Parade route.
Everyone is welcome
The relationship between organised religion and the expression of human sexuality is complex, and we recognise the courage that it takes sometimes for people who identify as LGBTQ+ to even get in touch with a church. Everyone is welcome to come along, whether or not they identify as LGBTQ+ and no matter their faith background, to enjoy and reconnect.
As we celebrate, our church will be open as a quiet space for private prayer and reflection. Take a moment to pause, breathe, and find calm inside — or enjoy the beauty of the Southwood Garden for a peaceful picnic and some shade.
Food, bar, arts and crafts, and face painting booth all available from 11am-6pm. The garden and church will be available as spaces of rest and quiet. The Affirmation Station will be open in the church where guests can write down thoughts and prayers.
Programme: 11am – Doors open 11am-1pm: Nicki DJs 1pm-3:30pm: Vivian Bam Bam DJs 3:30pm-6pm: Barbara DJs 6:30pm: Doors open for Eucharist

It’s our honour at St James’s Piccadilly to find ourselves on the historic Pride route through London. We issue a warm invitation to everyone on that day – and we really do mean everyone – to join us in celebrating life and love in all its diversity. The courtyard and garden will be full of dancing, conversation, hospitality and affirmation that all people, whatever our gender identity or sexuality, are part of one humanity. And the church itself will be open for quiet reflection and prayer for people from all faiths and none. As it says in the Bible, love is patient, love is kind. And we add; love is love. Come and celebrate with us on Saturday 4 July.
