Church Window Mask

The singing scholars are travelling again this summer, making this their fourth UK tour. This year they are finishing off the compass by going south. The scholars will visit Portsmouth, Chichester and Winchester Cathedrals to sing a eucharist and three evensongs.

They are also delighted to be be singing a Shakespeare themed concert at St Mary’s, Portchester in the grounds of the historic Portchester Castle.

Sun 17 Aug – Portsmouth Cathedral 11am Eucharist and 5.45pm Evensong

Mon 18 Aug – Concert at St Mary’s Portchester – 7pm-8pm

Wed 20 Aug – Evensong – Chichester Cathedral 5.30pm

Thu 21 Aug – Evensong – Winchester Cathedral 5.30pm

Each year the support for the scholars old and new has grown and we’d love to see people come to any or all of our events this year.

It’s wonderful to welcome back scholars from previous years to join the tour, which is now firmly an annual tradition! To be able to add to our number each year, means the standard gets better and better and we can continue to do more adventurous repertoire. It really is like a family when we all get together: we are so looking forward to getting back on the road, taking the music and message of St James’s out far and wide –  and having fun along the way.
