Rebekah Yinuo Tan was born in August 2006 in Shanghai. Inspired to become a concert pianist after hearing Chopin’s music in a live concert when she was 7, she started taking formal piano lessons half a year later with Zijie Wu.

It costs £5,000 each day to keep the doors of St James’s open to all who already need us.
A reimagined St James’s realised. A redesigned garden, courtyard and new building capacity—all fully accessible— will provide beautiful spaces for all as well as improving our environmental performance.

After a long, circuitous 45 year journey of faith and doubt, it was such a relief to discover St James’s 4 years ago! I’d found a beautiful, light filled church putting non-judgemental openness and welcome into practice. These are values I’m now privileged to represent on your behalf at the Deanery Synod.
I’ve come to feel part of the community of St James’s through the many things we do together. For me, it’s most especially been through Feast, where I’m a regular Table Host and sometimes Hospitality Lead. I am also on the Steering Group of the International Group, and was Lead for the successful application for St James’s to be given official recognition as a Church of Sanctuary. I’m a musician, composer and producer.
