David values St James’s for its generous heart, good liturgy, and as a safe space for silence. He believes the world would be a better place if more people walked the labyrinth.
He was a foreign correspondent for most of his life, much of that time in South Asia and Afghanistan.
He now wears several hats: as an author and visiting Senior Fellow at King’s College, London; as trustee of Peace Direct, which supports local peacebuilders worldwide – ‘stopping wars, one person at a time;’ and as trustee of Llansor Mill, a retreat centre in South Wales.
He is on the advisory board of the McDonald Centre for Theology, Ethics and Public Life at Oxford University, and is an Associate at the Imperial War Museum.
David’s one intent is to uncover the secret to the perfect sourdough.
