Ian is a Malaysian harpist who obtained his Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours at the Royal College of Music, which he was admitted to only in 4 years of learning the harp.

He enjoys chamber music, and regular plays with his 63 Strings (harp & string quartet) ensemble. An advocate of contemporary music, he recently curated & performed an entire concert of summer themed Japanese-contemporary works, titled “From Takemitsu to Miku”, back in June 2023. He regularly works with composers to create new works for the harp and giving world premieres.
Ian has played with professional orchestras in both London & Malaysia including The National Symphony Orchestra of Malaysia, Philharmonic Winds of Malaysia, The Doctor’s Orchestra (London) and the Chelsea Opera Group (London).
