In this special collaboration for Holy Week, St James’s Piccadilly brings together the music of composer Rachel Chaplin and spoken word presented by The Revd Lucy Winkett.

Daniel Piers is a British-Spanish jazz pianist based in London. He taught himself jazz piano in his late teenage years after falling in love with the music of Erroll Garner and Oscar Peterson.

Having established firm roots in the swing tradition, he began to experiment with more contemporary sounds – absorbing the music of John Taylor, Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Shai Maestro. Under the guidance of renowned British pianist Julian Joseph, Daniel has been cultivating a deep rhythmic approach and melodic sensibility to improvised music.
