It costs £5,000 each day to keep the doors of St James’s open to all who already need us.

Suspended seeks to highlight the plight of these refugees, with particular emphasis on those who are now stranded in cities and detention centres across Europe – men, women and children hung between loss and hope, suspended between a past to which they cannot return, and a future to which they cannot move forward.

In a record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award, as the scheme marks its Silver Jubilee, The Southwood Garden at St James’s Church Piccadilly, is one of 2127 parks and green spaces celebrating success.
Earlier this year we launched two films celebrating the cultural heritage of St James’s Church, Piccadilly. Featuring the work of woodcarver Grinling Gibbons and poet William Blake, the films were made possible with support from the National Lottery Heritage fund.
On 5 September 2021, 40 walkers from across the country set off from St James’s Piccadilly on a 500-mile journey to the United Nations Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP26) in Glasgow.
