St James’s is a place to explore, reflect, pray, and support all who are in need. We are a Church of England parish in the Anglican Communion. This is a place for everyone who’s wondering about life’s big questions and striving for a better world.
We host a year-round cultural programme encompassing music, visual art and spoken word, drawing on St James’s rich cultural history including artists, writers and musicians Mary Beale, Mary Delany, William Blake, Ottobah Cugoano and Leopold Stokowski.
We try to put our faith into action by educating ourselves and speaking out on issues of injustice, especially concerning refugees, asylum, earth and racial justice, and LGBTQ+ issues.

We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Nick Thasarathar in the new post of Operations Director for St James’s.
“I’m delighted to start working at St James’s as your Operations Director and very much look forward to meeting staff, volunteers and supporters alike in the coming weeks. I hope to be able to serve you well in furthering the good work you do.”
His role will be to oversee all the operations of St James’s, including the management of the buildings, support for all church, cultural and commercial activities, creation and oversight of the annual budget, and leadership of the day to day running of the site. He will also lead on planning for the Wren Project.
Nick spent sixteen years serving as an infantry officer in the army, and after that working in the charity sector for organisations such as Skills for Justice and Victim Support.
He will join the team in February and we look forward to welcoming him to St James’s.
