St James’s, Piccadilly is at an exciting moment in its 340-year history. The ‘Wren Project’ was recently awarded major grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to complete fundraising towards the £23m. The Wren Project has secured it’s Permission to Start from the Heritage Fund and the Delivery Phase is well under way.
The Communications Assistant is a role which is designed to support marketing and promotion of activities at St James’s including online content and support communications around the temporary closure of the site. The post-holder will be managed by St James’s Chief Operations Officer, with a dotted line to the Wren Project Heritage Programme Manager who is overseeing the delivery of the Wren Project Activity Plan.
The Activity Plan will ensure that the proposed repairs and upgrades to the buildings are delivered in tandem with a first-class heritage learning and participation programme. It will be impactful, inclusive and sustainable, delivering outcomes for the community, the heritage and the organisation. This will be achieved by:
• Driving and deepening relationships with audiences • Decreasing barriers to access • Uplifting the heritage story • Increase organisational resilience • Support individual and community wellbeing needs • Support local economic needs • Promoting environmental sustainability and climate action
