Rebekah Yinuo Tan was born in August 2006 in Shanghai. Inspired to become a concert pianist after hearing Chopin’s music in a live concert when she was 7, she started taking formal piano lessons half a year later with Zijie Wu.

It costs £5,000 each day to keep the doors of St James’s open to all who already need us.
A reimagined St James’s realised. A redesigned garden, courtyard and new building capacity—all fully accessible— will provide beautiful spaces for all as well as improving our environmental performance.
Whether shooting a blockbuster TV series or creating a unique corporate event, every hire at St James’s helps our works within the community.

St James’s aspires to be a place where all can belong, and where every person’s gifts and identities are welcome and celebrated. We are working to improve the experience at St James’s in the church building and the online community. We have step-free access from the courtyard to the church, and a toilet for disabled people. The courtyard and Redemption Roasters coffee shop are wheelchair accessible.

At Christmas time, we often use words like ‘home’ and ‘family’. Many will gather to celebrate and be together. But for many people today, such connection and security feels out of reach, and comfort feels far away. Come and be part of this reflective service of music and readings for all who find this time of year difficult. An opportunity to come together and address the sadness, pain of loss and even anger that can be felt during the Christmas season.
Tuesday 15 December 2.30pm and 5.30pm Join young conservatoire musicians, directed by Joy Hill, for joyful tradition carols and new commissions. Christmas readings are accompanied by classic favourites, brass fanfares, percussion and choirs.

Join this solemn and beautiful Christmas Eucharist, with carols by candlelight.

Celebrate the birth of Christ with choral music and carols. Everyone’s welcome to join our Christmas lunch with all the trimmings, after the service.
