    Programme notes:

A series of “colour” pieces – this is an album of improvisations, which have never been transcribed. Each piece has a particular essence, which provides a ‘springboard’ for the pianist. This essence is variously a progression of chords, melodies, or rhythms etc. During a performance, each piece can develop in a completely unexpected direction, even mutate into another idea entirely. Each improvisation is therefore completely unique; it cannot be repeated due to the lack of notation.

Usually the “colours” in this cycle signify the direction of a thought; they do not necessarily or solely correspond to visual “colours”.
