It costs £5,000 each day to keep the doors of St James’s open to all who already need us.
A reimagined St James’s realised. A redesigned garden, courtyard and new building capacity—all fully accessible— will provide beautiful spaces for all as well as improving our environmental performance.

Pianist Pavel Timofeyevsky presents an enchanting programme of piano gems by Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Liszt, and Ravel. This recital goes beyond the music, with Pavel sharing stories and insights that reveal the inspirations behind each piece, offering audiences a deeper connection to the music. From virtuosic showpieces to lyrical masterpieces, the performance invites listeners to experience the piano repertoire in a more personal and engaging way, blending musical brilliance with a touch of narrative charm. Presented in association with the Philomel Creative Circle.

Artist Bio
Pianist and composer Pavel Timofeyevsky, winner of the BBC Young Composer of the Year Award, is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the most exciting and compelling artists emerging today. Audiences and press alike praise his playing for its “shimmering undertones, transient reality and sunlit rays full of rapturous colours” (Pulse UK). Pavel has performed at major concert venues in UK and worldwide which include the Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Shanghai Oriental Centre for Arts, Mumbai National Centre for Performing Arts, Guangzhou Opera House and the Linder Auditorium in Johannesburg. His New York debut at the renowned Merkin Hall at the Kaufman Center has brought him invitations to debut in Italy (Florence), as well as tours in Kenya and South Africa. Recent highlights include performing with the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra at the Fred Kavli Theatre in Los Angeles. Pavel is the Artistic Director of Philomel Creative Circle, a concert series in London, in residence at the Francis Crick Institute. In September 2023 he was invited to become Music Director of Devon Opera and Notable – opera projects in London. He debuted with his own arrangement of Puccini’s Tosca for both companies with the London performance featuring on Channel 4 News and garnering high praise in “Opera” magazine. An eloquent speaker Pavel gives regular lecture-recitals for Notable series “Music and Storytelling by Candlelight” in London.
