These stained glass paintings explore Mary’s visit to her cousin Elizabeth, drawing from the first chapter of Luke. In this encounter, Elizabeth—elderly and pregnant with John the Baptist—embodies the assurance that “with God nothing shall be impossible.”

This richly expressive programme brings together two of the most beloved works from the orchestral and concerto repertoire. The concert opens with the enchanting magic of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite, brimming with sparkling dances and timeless melodies that capture the wonder of one of the most celebrated ballets of all time. The evening concludes with the sweeping romance and emotional intensity of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2—a work that continues to captivate audiences with its haunting lyricism and soaring climaxes, featuring renowned concert pianist, Simon Callaghan

Simon Callaghan performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, in parallel with a highly successful career as a recording artist. A favourite performer at the internationally-renowned Husum Festival of Piano Rarities in Germany, Callaghan’s recent sell-out concert was praised by VAN Magazine as a “cleverly curated recital full of discoveries” and by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as “technically brilliant”. Callaghan has developed a wide following and appears on a regular basis in the UK’s major concert halls, and on tours to Asia, North America and Europe.
