We host a year-round cultural programme encompassing music, visual art and spoken word, drawing on St James’s rich cultural history including artists, writers and musicians Mary Beale, Mary Delany, William Blake, Ottobah Cugoano and Leopold Stokowski.
We try to put our faith into action by educating ourselves and speaking out on issues of injustice, especially concerning refugees, asylum, earth and racial justice, and LGBTQ+ issues.

Greetings! I’ve been coming to St James for about 5 and a bit years now, after discovering it by complete chance after wandering into a Taize service one summer evening. I’ve not looked back since and have loved being part of this amazing church community. Some of you may have seen me don various ridiculous costumes as part of the SJP cabaret, and I’ve loved helping out with the Winter Shelter and Feast. It’s great to see all the amazing plans for the church coming to life and so it’s a really exciting time to join the PCC. Outside of church life I write and produce kids cartoons, make electronic music and improvise silly nonsense on stage for little-to-no money.
