We host a year-round cultural programme encompassing music, visual art and spoken word, drawing on St James’s rich cultural history including artists, writers and musicians Mary Beale, Mary Delany, William Blake, Ottobah Cugoano and Leopold Stokowski.
We try to put our faith into action by educating ourselves and speaking out on issues of injustice, especially concerning refugees, asylum, earth and racial justice, and LGBTQ+ issues.

Ros discovered St James’s in 2010 after picking up a postcard on a stall at London Pride and has been a regular attender ever since. She cannot imagine life without the spiritual challenge and amazing grace that is found in this place.
Over the last ten years at St James’s, she has volunteered in the Winter Shelter, sung with the Lay Singers and coordinated stewards at the Bethlehem Unwrapped festival of ‘beautiful resistance’. In her professional life, Ros has worked extensively in adult social care, both as a social worker and a consultant, and now leads on strategy, business planning, and major projects for a national charity.
