At Christmas, St James’s is a place where everyone is welcome. For people facing loneliness, homelessness, poor mental health, financial hardship or displacement, our doors can offer something as simple – and as important – as a warm welcome, practical support and a place where they are known and treated with dignity.

It costs £5,000 each day to keep the doors of St James’s open to all who already need us.
A reimagined St James’s realised. A redesigned garden, courtyard and new building capacity—all fully accessible— will provide beautiful spaces for all as well as improving our environmental performance.

We invite relatives and friends who have lost a loved one to attend and light a candle in their memory.
In the season of Remembrance, each year we hold a Requiem Eucharist for All Souls’ Day.
This year, the setting is by the contemporary composer Bob Chilcott.
We invite relatives and friends who have lost a loved one to attend the service and light a candle in their memory. As part of the service, we read out the names of all those whose funerals and memorials have been held at St James’s in the past year.
The Revd Lucy Winkett will be officiating and The Revd Dr Ayla Lepine will be preaching.
All are welcome to this service sung by St James’s Music Scholars and Lay Singers directed by Michael Haslam.
