St James’s Christmas Card 2025
Designed by Yinka Ilori MBE
We are honoured that this year’s St James’s Christmas card has been designed by the London-based artist Yinka Ilori, bringing a joyful burst of colour to the darker months in the Northern Hemisphere.
Yinka Ilori MBE (b. 1987) is a British artist and designer celebrated for his vibrant use of colour and playful approach to form. His work—spanning furniture, architecture, and public installations—draws on his British-Nigerian heritage and the rich visual language of African Modernism. Ilori’s distinctive, optimistic aesthetic has been exhibited in leading museums around the world.
This year’s card features Hold Me For Love, a poetic message that explores the interconnections between language and image, continuing the modernist tradition that informs much of Ilori’s practice.
A pack of 8 cards and envelopes is £10, including a donation to St James’s ‘Christmas for All’ appeal.
The cards are available to purchase online, shipping to start week commencing 10 November.
The cards will be available to purchase in church after each Sunday Service from 16 November.
The greeting inside the card is Peace at Christmas
The artwork celebrates this spirit of openness and care. Its central form, reminiscent of a nurturing womb, is cradled by guardian hands—symbolising protection, cherishing, and the fostering of life. Encircling this core are symbols that reflect the causes and values St James’s holds dear.
The mosaic-like design reminds us that each individual is part of a greater whole. By respecting one another and coming together, we can create something beautiful—a vision of harmony and peace.
The symbols include:
