Sun 6 July 2-4pm

Join us for exuberant gospel music with Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir in the courtyard.

  • Getting here

We are at 197 Piccadilly London W1J 9LL between Piccadilly and Jermyn Street, about 200 yards from Piccadilly Circus.

  • For the next Soul at Saint James we will continue exploring the fruits of the spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, with songs such as ‘Patience’ from the Original Dreamgirls Soundtrack, as well as other bangers like Higher Love, Ain’t Nobody, You brought the Sunshine, and New Revelation. We will also have spoken word which will be delivered by members of the choir.

The uplifting power of Gospel music

“Gospel music has an incredible power to connect with each of us in a unique way. The emotional and spiritual connection that is rooted deep in this soulful music still resonates with us in the 21st century and has influenced pop culture around the globe. At St James’s we want to be a place of meaningful celebration and reflection through music especially for people that may not feel comfortable being inside a church. Soul at Saint James was born in collaboration with Soul Sanctuary Gospel Choir to reimagine what the idea of “Church” could be, where everyone is included and celebrated, and offered the time to engage with their journey on their own terms. We hope to be a place of inclusion and create a space for everyone to enjoy the uplifting power of Gospel music.”

We rely on the generosity of individuals like you to support our free events, as the costs involved include running expenses, compensating musicians, and paying skilled sound technicians—all made possible through your donations to our charitable cause.

We will have an opening act performing from 2 pm till 2.40 pm, followed by an interview with the guest artist/charity at 2.45pm followed by the main set at 3pm. We hope to see you there.
