  • The Royal Academy Cello Ensemble presents a programme of works by Tchaikovsky, Villa Lobos and Schubert, as well as arrangements of film music by James Barralet.

    The ensemble has been directed since its foundation in 2012 by the distinguished international performer Josephine Knight, Professor of Cello and holder of the Alfredo Piatti Chair at the Royal Academy. The Ensemble’s eclectic repertoire features a sound-world that ranges from arrangements of John Dowland, to works by many living composers including commissions by the Academy especially for the Cello Ensemble. This concert will mark the Ensemble`s 10th Year of performing at St. James`s Piccadilly.
