People, disabilities and St James's
The courtyard is accessible via a ramp from Piccadilly.
There is wheelchair access into the church building from both Jermyn St and Piccadilly sides (the Jermyn St side has space for an 80cm wide wheelchair; Piccadilly side is slightly narrower at 69cm).
The rectory (church offices) and basement rooms including the Church Hall are not accessible to wheelchairs and may prove difficult for those with disabilities. We are anxious to remedy this but so far have found the cost and the practical difficulties of full-site accessibility too much of a challenge. We often return to this matter, and really hope to be able to make some progress.
The church has a good audio system with hearing loop facilities. Sunday service sheets are available in a large print version.
If you plan to visit and need help please let us know. Contact the Vergers in the first instance. We will do our best to help.

- from Jermyn St: go through the iron gates at the back of the church (just after Hawes and Curtis tailors on the corner of Church Place and Jermyn St), turning immediately left along the back of the church past the flower stall – this is a gradual ramp which leads to a door into the church foyer
- from Piccadilly: enter the church gates, turning immediately right to a gradual ramp into the courtyard. There is a metal ramp (width 69cm) into the church itself.
- Toilet facilities: There is an accessible toilet in the foyer which can be opened with a radar key
- Parking: This map shows locations of blue badge parking bays near St James’s Piccadilly. The one in the middle of Jermyn St, marked with a white marker is right outside the Jermyn St entrance to the church.
