Away Giving
We commit a proportion of all the church's income to charitable causes. Each year members of the congregation are invited to suggest recipients which usually include projects and charities in the UK and overseas. The PCC - our church governing body - makes the final decision.

About some of the projects we have helped fund
Mercedes writes: We're privileged to support the THREE2SIX education project for refugee children in South Africa through our Away Giving. Through keeping in regular contact with THREE2SIX, we've continued to learn about the collective creativity and human flourishing that the project generates in the face of the children's difficult lives. As a result of civil wars in Africa (mostly DRC), many children have lost family members, seen atrocities and been uprooted from their homes and from everything that is familiar. They now live precariously in South Africa with an asylum seekers registration system that effectively ensures that as few refugees as possible become registered without paying enormous bribes. The THREE2SIX after school education project offers nurturing, encouragement, creativity - and makes an enormous difference to the lives of children without papers, and without access to state funded schooling. This 14 minute film, scripted, animated and with sound effects and song by the THREE2SIX children, portrays the life of Precious and her brother David. Precious and David have lost their parents and find themselves in the metropolis of Johannesburg dealing with a hostile xenophobic environment, a despairing uncle, suspicious neighbours and more. Sounds familiar?
