A LENT COURSE: HOPE AND REDEMPTION:
THE GREATEST SHOWMAN
Rachel Mann is a parish priest, writer and broadcaster, with a particular interest in the relationship between popular culture and faith.
The Greatest Showman is a 2017 (see trailer here) original American musical inspired by the imagination of P T Barnum that celebrates the birth of showbusiness and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.
Taking the film as a starting point, the course explores ways in which themes of faith, hope and redemption run through all our lives.
The film itself will be screened in church on Sunday 3 March at 3.15pm. You don’t need a copy of the book to take part, but should you wish to purchase one see details in the flyer. The film can be bought and found on streaming channels.
The course takes place on five of the six Sundays in Lent:
It is not essential to come to every session
